Therapy for Teens & Young Adults

Today, adolescence and early adulthood is happening in a world that is more public, more competitive, and less predictable. Your teen needs support that matches the context of the changing world around them.

Gaming on smartphone

It’s a lot to grow up in a world like this.

High expectations. Constant comparison. Big decisions, early. No wonder it feels overwhelming.

Today’s teens and young adults are navigating more than most people recognize—academically, socially, and internally. Even the ones who are “doing well” are often carrying anxiety, pressure, and uncertainty that doesn’t show on the surface. We help make that visible—and workable.

COMMON AREAS OF FOCUS

A lot of teens and young adults are holding more than they let on —

— pressure about school, uncertainty about the future, and a constant awareness of how they’re being seen

Anxiety & Overthinking

The mental loop that won't quit, even when there's no actual emergency. We find where it starts and interrupt it.

ADHD & Focus

Not laziness. An executive function system that needs a different approach, not just trying harder.

Self Esteem & Identity

Who am I? Am I enough? These questions are worth answering thoughtfully, not just reassured

away.

Life Transitions

High school to college to adulthood. Even the good ones are destabilizing. We work through

both.

The Low Hum

No single thing you can point to. Just slightly off. That counts. We start there.

Social Pressure & Relationships

FOMO, dating, performing a version of yourself online that doesn't match who you are. We talk

about all of it.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PRACTICE

Dr. Lindsey O'Brennan

FOUNDER • LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST • EXECUTIVE COACH

Dr. Lindsey built Morningstar in 2018 around a simple idea: transformation doesn’t have to feel clinical — it can be human-first, engaging, and even a little joyful.

She works with high achievers because she is one (her professional and fitness CVs are, frankly, extensive) and because she’s deeply inspired by what driven people are capable of when they’re no longer burning themselves out to succeed. Her clients are often navigating anxiety, overwhelm, and burnout across academic, professional, and personal domains. They’re not struggling to perform — they’re questioning the cost of performing at such a high level, and looking for a more sustainable way forward.

And while the work is thoughtful and substantive, it’s also human—expect to laugh at yourself at least once per session… and to be asked about your dog.
